KNOW YOUR LIGHTS

In a Mexican-American neighborhood in Chicago, a young girl investigates mysterious “lights”, only to uncover a far more dangerous reality threatening her community.

Set in Chicago’s Little Village, Know Your Lights follows nine-year-old Gianna, a curious girl with a detective’s eye and a notebook full of clues, sketches, and theories. When another family vanishes from her apartment building, this time her best friend, Gianna continues her hunt to uncover the truth, piecing together clues from the strange lights that come at night, the cryptic flyers hanging from doors, and the unsettling traces left behind. What begins as a child’s game turns into something far more real as Gianna comes to understand the danger closing in around her family. Told through her eyes, the film is a grounded yet lyrical portrait of childhood and awareness. Where curiosity collides with fear, and light becomes a mystery and a means of survival.
