For 50 years, Chicago Filmmakers has supported filmmakers and digital media artists in the creation of independent film and video projects through fiscal sponsorships, production grants, networking events, and other services. Whether you’re emerging, established, or just dabbling in a new art form, we are here to help connect you with equipment, information, and opportunities designed to help you hone your craft and tell your stories.

We strive to keep the cost of our classes and services affordable and accessible, and by becoming a member, you will not only gain access to our filmmaker services, but you will also help us continue in our mission of providing access to all.

At Chicago Filmmakers, we are a full service media arts organization offering:

2023 SPECIAL: Experimental Sound Studio (ESS) is excited to offer all Chicago Filmmakers members discounted in-studio recording, mixing, and mastering rates! Beginning January 15th, Chicago Filmmakers members can book studio time at ESS for $60/hr (normal rate $75/hr). You can learn more about ESS' full-service recording facility here.
