Seeking Candidates to Join the Chicago Filmmakers Board of Directors!

Chicago Filmmakers is seeking to expand its Board of Directors and is looking for dynamic applicants to engage with the organization as an active member of our Board. 

Chicago Filmmakers is particularly interested in expanding the capacity of its Board of Directors with two new board members who have experience in:

  • Fundraising and/or Grant Writing

  • Legal and/or HR

  • Leadership - potential board officer

  • Financial Management

Application Process

Applications are accepted through March 6th at 5:00 PM Central. Please submit your application through the form here.

Acceptance Process

Interviews with select candidates will be held between March 16th and April 3rd.

If selected, the candidate will be invited for a full board “meet and greet,” after which the board will vote on their candidacy.  If approved for board membership, the term will commence at the next scheduled board meeting on May 12th at 6:30 PM Central.

Board Member Expectations

  • Assist in carrying out the mission of Chicago Filmmakers

  • Commit to a term of 3-years, subject to an additional one term renewal

  • Attend six full board meetings per year

  • Participate on at least one board committee that meets on alternate months from the board meetings

  • Assist in fundraising, including an annual $500 give-or-get commitment

  • Be a Chicago Filmmakers “Member” ($50/year)

  • Attend, or volunteer for at least 3 Chicago Filmmakers events per year

The board meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM Central on the following months (exact dates subject to change):

  • January

  • March

  • May

  • July

  • September

  • November
