Director of Education and Filmmaker Development

Chicago Filmmakers is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Education and Filmmaker Development to join our team and advance our expanding work in the film and TV sector. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded understanding of film production, a passion for the organization’s mission and programs, a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the film industry, and a forward-thinking, innovative mindset. The position will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing Chicago Filmmakers’ year-round educational and workforce training programs; building community among local filmmakers through networking events, seminars, panel discussions, and other professional development activities; and overseeing direct services to filmmakers, including fiscal sponsorship and equipment access.

Marketing and Communications Intern

The Marketing and Communications Intern at Chicago Filmmakers works closely with the Marketing Manager to manage the organization's website and social media channels, write email communications and press releases, produce marketing related assets as well as assist with audience development to support a variety of CF programs. Ideal candidate will have a strong interest in marketing, familiarity with social media platforms, some graphic design capabilities and enthusiasm for independent film. Requirements: 12 - 20 hours per week; in-person preferred. Applications for Spring/Summer 2024 are currently closed.

Programming Intern

The Programming Intern works closely with the Program Director to support all aspects of Chicago Filmmakers' year-round screening series. Responsibilities include previewing work under consideration for programming, communicating with screening partners and filmmakers, and supporting the successful execution of screenings and events produced by Chicago Filmmakers. Ideal candidate will have strong written communication and research skills to effectively assist with planning and executing screenings. Interns in this position who have a strong interest in film curation will have the opportunity to take the lead on programming select events. Internships


Chicago Filmmakers is always open to considering qualified candidates for Board membership.
 
We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about film and video as media for personal and artistic expression, and who believe in the potential of film and video to have strong social and community impact. Chicago Filmmakers is particularly seeking Board members with interest in marketing and communications, experience in fundraising, and knowledge of the local independent film community. Previous Board experience is helpful but not necessary.
 
Board membership goes beyond traditional volunteering and into the highest level of visionary leadership for the organization, assuming legal and financial responsibilities while serving as a community ambassador for the mission. Serving as a Board member provides a unique opportunity to put your passion for a social cause into action by applying your experience and expertise to help advance an organization’s impact.
