Local filmmaker Ben Creech has become a strong friend of Chicago Filmmakers over the last several years – as a projectionist, organizer of our film collection, and curator of the successful “Picture Re-Start” screening series. We are thrilled to host this special screening of work made by Ben and his partner Nicole, presented on the occasion of their marriage. Their collaborative short films share the intimacy of home movies and the artistic eye of experimental diary films. With Ben Creech and Nicole Rea in person. Hosted by Joshua Minsoo Kim and Elise Schierbeek.
Ben writes:
“After ten years together, we’re finally getting married this month! To celebrate, we’re sharing this special program of experimental films and home movies that we’ve made together over the course of our relationship. We met at the University of Chicago in 2012, started dating in 2016, and began making movies together in 2018. Films in this program will include images of celestial bodies, works of art and architecture, screenings we’ve hosted, art pop-ups we’ve attended, family road trips, videos of our Bernese Mountain Pup Carl, and a brand-new 16mm film made just for this occasion. Come see these beautiful images of our lives together as we take this big step into our wondrous next chapter.”
