HAYDEN & HER FAMILY | IN-PERSON SCREENING ON 2/5
The Currys are building a family of twelve children, five of whom are adopted from China and Vietnam, and have special needs. This inspiring adoption story explores the power of transformation through acts of generosity and sacrifice when different lives and love intersect.
HAYDEN & HER FAMILY
Join us for the premiere in-person screening of HAYDEN & HER FAMILY at Chicago Filmmakers on Saturday, February 5 at 7PM. 100% of box office proceeds for this screening will go directly to Chicago Filmmakers to support its mission.
Elizabeth and Jud Curry always knew they wanted a large family. Despite already raising multiple children of their own, their ambitious altruism pushes them to do more. Over the course of several years they adopt five children, all with special needs, from Vietnam and China. One of those adoptees is Hayden, a young girl born with linear nevus sebaceous syndrome, a disorder that affects her appearance and cognitive abilities. Jud and Elizabeth face the difficulties and isolation of raising adopted children with special needs. Hayden and her siblings likewise must make sense of their new family and their place in it. Through the lens of both adoptive parents and their children, HAYDEN & HER FAMILY tells an empowering and honest story of adoption and what it means to be family. (2021, USA)
HAYDEN & HER FAMILY is a fiscally sponsored project of Chicago Filmmakers.
