WILL SCHNEIDER

Writer / Director / Educator

Will Schneider is a writer/director/educator born and based in the city of Chicago, IL. His films involve realistic characters at the ends of their ropes, often veering towards dark Drama and Thriller. His work has screened in prestigious festivals like the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts, FilmQuest, and Chicago Underground. He recently received his MFA in Film Directing from DePaul University's School of the Cinematic Arts. Will is a full-time Film Teacher at DePaul College Prep. He has written or co-written ten feature length screenplays, one of which - Fire in Arms - was a Quarterfinalist in the 2023 Academy Nicholl Fellowships. His newest short film - Tame - won a DCASE IAP grant and was just completed in December 2024. Will believes true education comes in the most hands-on environment possible.
