JENNY POPOVICH

Jenny Popovich is a writer, director, and editor currently living in Chicago, who will be receiving her MFA in Cinema and Television directing from Columbia College Chicago in December. Jenny’s drama, horror, comedy, and sci-fi scripts and films tell relevant twenty-first-century stories with memorable and engaging characters. Jenny is a strong advocate for female representation both in front of and behind the camera and her female-centered films and screenplays provide believable characters with engaging plots.

Jenny’s films have been screened and won at many U.S. and international festivals, including the Central Florida Film Festival, Best Horror Shorts Film Festival, and the WPRN Women’s International Film Festival. Her scripts have placed and won in several festival screenwriting contests, including FilmQuest, The New York Science Fiction Film Festival, the ScreenCraft Film Fund, and the Richmond International Film Festival. Jenny’s most recent film Hair Wraith uses the horror genre to explore the terrors of mother/daughter relationships.
