Marketing and Fundraising Intern

Chicago Filmmakers has an opening for a Marketing & Fundraising Intern. The intern will assist the Marketing Manager in developing audiences for Chicago Filmmakers classes, programs, and weekly screening series through social networking, grassroots marketing, community outreach, organizational partnerships, and other promotional activities. Candidates should have a strong interest in marketing and/or nonprofit development and be enthusiastic about independent film.

Experience with social networking, graphic design, and event promotions are also helpful. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Hours: 12 - 16 hours per week 15 weeks (January 23 – May 12) any workdays Mon-Fri, 10am - 6pm

Filmmaker Services Intern

Chicago Filmmakers has an opening for a Filmmaker Services Intern. The intern will help to serve our filmmaker members and students through a variety of duties, including checking in/out equipment rentals, registering students for classes, helping to organize guest speakers and networking events, processing memberships and updating membership records, preparing the classrooms for instructors, researching and recommending equipment purchases, surveying members and tracking data, and other activities involving filmmaker services and educational programs. Candidates should have an educational background or experience in digital filmmaking.

Hours: 12 - 16 hours per week 15 weeks (January 23 – May 12) any workdays Mon-Fri, 10am - 6pm

Assistant to the Executive Director Intern

Chicago Filmmakers has an opening for an intern to assist our Executive Director. The intern will help to ensure that the organization is in compliance of various NPO regulations, gather and maintain the documents necessary to ensure compliance, write checks to pay invoices under the direction of the executive director, manage volunteer lists and track their work hours, research grant opportunities and assist in the grant writing process, maintain filing system for invoices, receipts and organization documents, and assist in managing an organization calendar and keeping the executive director aware of deadlines and time frames.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The successful candidate will have enthusiasm and a positive attitude, attention to detail, initiative, organizational skills. Knowledge of business management and basic accounting preferred.

Hours: 12 - 16 hours per week 15 weeks (January 23 – May 12) any workdays Mon-Fri, 10am - 6pm
